Description:

Hands on Bills of Material (BOM) module training for those who need to understand and construct material and capacity plans and product cost models.”

This session walks through the Bills of Material (BOM) module from an engineering perspective and reviews the setup and operation of the Part Master activity – Master, Engineering and Manufacturer’s Part Number (MPN) tabs.

It then explains the use of the Visual BOM activity and BOM tab to produce both normal and alternate BOMs. It addresses how to document these parts and structures and concludes with a review of inquiries, reports and batch processes. These are the primary engineering functions in Stage I – Strategy & Structures of the Standard MAX Implementation Plan.

This 2-hour session will provide fundamental training utilizing PowerPoint slides for narratives, as well as, provide actual examples in a MAX Training database. This session is intended for those experienced in creating product structure relationships that need a refresher, as well as, those new to the engineering function.

The material reviewed in this session is a prerequisite for the Product Strategy & Structure – Routings Webinar which follows on our training schedule. This follow-up webinar will discuss how to setup the processes implied in each level of BOM that is created.
